The conclusion of the Community Championship within the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival

Abu Dhabi, August 16 / WAM / The competitions of the “resident communities” championship were concluded today within the 31st edition of the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival, with the participation of 118 players representing 58 rally.
The Iranian community crowned the title after collecting 12 points after winning 5 games and two draws.
The Philippine community (A) finished second by winning 6 games in exchange for one loss against the Iranian community, while the Philippine community (B) came in third, after achieving four wins and 3 draws.
The festival activities will continue tomorrow in the third round of the professors championship, in addition to the start of the veteran category competitions “over 50 years” and “family chess”.
Today, the second round of the professors’ championship, which is the main event in the festival, was held today, and witnessed a competitor between 206 players and players from the classification of 2300 points and above, from the elite of the game stars globally, and the continent of Asia.
The second round of the open championship (A) was also held with the participation of 212 players, for international players, rating 2299 points and Maden, and the open category B.
Today, the activities of the junior championship were launched, 16 years old, and Maaden, with the participation of 315 players.
It is noteworthy that the festival will be held during the period from 15 to 24 August, under the supervision of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and is organized by the Abu Dhabi Chess and Mental Games, in the “Radisson Blu” and St. Regis delegations in Abu Dhabi, with a total of half a million dirhams, and witnesses 27 championships.
