The UAE strongly condemns the targeting of a humanitarian convoy of the World Food Program in Sudan

The UAE has expressed its strong condemnation of the attack that targeted a humanitarian convoy near the city of Melt in North Darfur, Sudan, which is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, stressing the importance of protecting the security and safety of civilians and humanitarian and relief workers.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the necessity of the warring parties in Sudan to adhere to what was stated in the Jeddah Declaration, to ensure the protection of civilians and secure the corridors of humanitarian and relief aid, stressing the need to give priority to the benefit of the Sudanese people and protect it from the repercussions of the war.

The UAE has renewed its constant position calling for a ceasefire immediately, facilitating the arrival of urgent humanitarian aid, and working to support regional and international endeavors aimed at ending the internal war and achieving the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people towards peace and stability.
