Accompanying their children’s parents on the first day causes traffic congestion

The first day of the beginning of the new academic year witnesses a high traffic density for the movement of vehicles, and a strong crowding in the roads leading to schools, especially during the first leg, and this may include cases of lack of commitment to traffic laws, as many parents are keen to take their children with their own vehicles, especially on the first day, in a family atmosphere that shows support and encouragement for children to education.

On the other hand, the traffic agencies, roads, transportation, municipalities and ambulances have prepared, at the state level, in a proactive manner for this day, through field plans that focus on intensifying traffic patrols in intersections leading to schools, publishing specialized teams to regulate traffic and traffic, and increase awareness campaigns to adhere to and pay attention to the pedestrians from students while they are heading to their schools, and the lack of random stand that causes the obstruction of traffic and traffic.

Many parents affirmed their keenness to take their children with their own vehicles to schools, on the first day of the beginning of each new academic year, noting that this habit enhances confidence and positivity among children, especially in the kindergarten and the first episode, and encourages them to love the school and learning.

They stated that the first day usually witnesses a great density in the number of vehicles in the vicinity of schools, difficulty in traffic and traffic and finding vacant positions, which constitutes a great challenge, especially during the first leg to school.

The Federal Traffic Council, in coordination with the general police leaders in the country, launched a “safe academic year” campaign with the start of the academic year 2025-2026, as part of efforts to enhance traffic safety and emphasize the importance of protection and smoothness of traffic, which provides a safe environment for students since the first day of the study.

Abu Dhabi Police has intensified traffic patrols on the intersections and internal and external roads in the emirate, and the traffic monitoring patrols to regulate traffic and traffic and facilitate the movement of school buses, and to ensure the infantry crossings to secure the traffic safety for students while going down from the vehicle until reaching the school door.

The Integrated Transport Center, affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, is implemented a plan to secure a smooth traffic traffic in the areas surrounding schools for all road users, whether from pedestrians or school bus users and public transportation or private vehicles, and publishing field inspection teams in a number of school sites that witness traffic congestion from the beginning of the school year to facilitate traffic around schools.

A day without accidents

“Stand” arm
