The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry summons the Iranian Chargé d’Affaires and declares two diplomats unwanted due to the ongoing attacks

Today, Wednesday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Suleiman Al-Mashaan, summoned Hamid Hamid Yaqoubifar, Acting Chargé d’Affairs at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the State of Kuwait, and handed him an official memorandum of protest regarding the ongoing Iranian attacks. The Ministry also informed him of the decision to reduce the number of members of the Iranian embassy in the country, and to consider two members of the Iranian diplomatic mission as persona non grata, while asking them to leave the territory of the State of Kuwait within a maximum period of 24 hours.
The Deputy Foreign Minister explained in a statement that this decision comes as a result of the continued brutal Iranian attacks with ballistic missiles and drones, which were renewed at dawn today, targeting a number of civilian facilities and vital installations, including Kuwait International Airport, which led to the death of one person and the injury of dozens of civilians, in addition to material damage that affected vital facilities and diplomatic headquarters, in flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the State of Kuwait, the Charter of the United Nations, and the principles of International law, and Security Council Resolution No. (2817).
The Deputy Foreign Minister renewed the State of Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the sinful Iranian attacks, stressing the State of Kuwait’s categorical refusal to use its lands or airspace in any hostile actions against any country, stressing that the false Iranian allegations are baseless and not based on any evidence, and that the repetition of these allegations cannot in any way justify the attacks that targeted the lands of the State of Kuwait and its civilian and vital installations.
He also stressed the full and inherent right of the State of Kuwait to defend itself, and to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty, maintain its security, and protect its lands, airspace, citizens, and residents in the face of these systematic hostile practices, in a manner consistent with international law.
