Women’s Union and "Purayth" Celebrate Emirati Women’s Day

Abu Dhabi, August 26/ WAM/ Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Federation, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, the Federation organized a distinguished celebration with “Burhailth” on the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day.
This celebration comes in line with the slogan of the Emirati Women’s Day for this year “hand in hand we celebrate the fifty”, which embodies the leading position of Emirati women and their pivotal role in the march of development and national prosperity, and confirms its mission in inspiring future generations and enhancing their contribution as an active partner in various fields of national action.
On this occasion, His Excellency Noura Khalifa Al -Suwaidi, General Secretary of the General Women’s Union said that the Emirati Women’s Day is a high national occasion, through which we renew the pride in the qualitative achievements of the Emirates, thanks to the wise vision and continuous support from Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak “Mother of the Emirates”, which established the pillars of the empowerment march and opened in front of women wide prospects for excellence and leadership, and that we raised their highest thanksgiving. And appreciation, we affirm the general commitment of the Women’s Union to continue to work to consolidate the role of Emirati women as an active partner in sustainable development, and to enhance their presence and contributions to the service of the country and build its bright future.

For its part, Maryam Al -Mundhiri, Director of the Women’s Support Office in the General Women’s Union, confirmed in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” that this event, which comes in line with the emblem of Emirati women, “hand in hand we celebrate the fifty” on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the General Women’s Union reflects the national vision to celebrate fifty years of empowerment.
She said that Emirati women today play an inspiring role locally and globally, and have left their clear imprint in the sustainable development process thanks to the support of our wise leadership and His Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
She added that the event – which brought together a group of speakers and focused on the gains achieved for Emirati women during five decades – in which we remember what women have achieved during the past decades and seek to continue to motivate future generations to continue this pioneering national role.
She said that Emirati women today have a leading and prestigious position in various fields and sectors thanks to the directives of the wise leadership and the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak or the Emirates.
The celebration brought together a group of Emirati women as part of inspiring dialogues in the presence of a group of guests, including His Excellency Aisha Al -Mulla, the former member of the Federal National Council, Dr. Ghassna Al -Amiri, the chief preacher in the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, Dr. Ghanayem Sultan Al Mazrouei, a doctor residing in “Sahi”, Dr. Salama Muhammad Al -Hosani, Acting President of the Medical President in “Health” and Dr. Jamila Saif Al -Ketbi, President A section in “Health” and the sessions were conducted by Dr. Noud Al -Hashemi, Director of the Development and Emiratisation Department – Buriheth, while the celebration corporal, Dr. Badria Al Hammadi.

The attendees witnessed a series of interactive experiences related to well -being and culture, which included the “Health Clinics” and “Sakina” health examinations, and the “Biora” and “Akti Abu Dhabi” wing to enhance active lifestyles, and the corner of the Emirati women’s march program that reviewed local women’s talents and celebrated their creativity.
Since its foundation in 1975 with the vision and wisdom of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, the General Women’s Union issued the scene of launching initiatives supporting women in the areas of motherhood care, mental health, education, early intervention and gender equality and worked to establish the values of flexibility, sympathy and shared responsibility, and went on to support the path of the country in empowering women, enhancing family cohesion, and advancing the wheel of societal progress.
It should be noted that “Burhailth” continues to expand its efforts to enhance the role of Emirati women in leadership positions, support their comprehensive development and advance national progress through constructive initiatives such as “Emirati Women’s March” and “Emirati Development Center”.
