The UAE chairs the meetings of the Arab League Council, which starts tomorrow

The United Arab Emirates will chair the meetings of the 164th session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates, which will be held tomorrow, Monday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, as part of the preparation for the meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers to be held next Thursday.

The meetings will focus on discussing a number of pivotal Arab issues, foremost of which are the developments of the Palestinian issue, the efforts made to recognize the Palestinian state, and ways to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, as well as discussing the reconstruction plans and ways to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people politically, economically and socially.

The meetings also deal with developments in a number of Arab countries, in addition to discussing mechanisms for dealing with the current regional challenges in a manner that ensures the enhancement of Arab national security and the protection of common strategic interests.

The meetings are expected to discuss the files of Arab economic and social cooperation, including supporting the Palestinian economy and enhancing economic integration between Arab countries, in preparation for submitting recommendations and decisions to the ministerial meeting to adopt them within a comprehensive Arab vision to enhance joint Arab action in facing regional and international challenges.
