A delegation from the World Health Organization visits the Emirati field hospital in the Gaza Strip and praises its humanitarian efforts

Gaza on the first of September/ WAM/ A delegation from the World Health Organization visited the UAE field hospital in the Gaza Strip, in the context of enhancing joint cooperation to support the health sector in light of the humanitarian challenges taking place in the sector.

The delegation was headed by Dr. Luka Bejuzi, coordinator of the organization’s medical emergency team in Gaza, where he was briefed on the services provided by the hospital to the wounded and injured, and the medical capabilities available in it.

During the visit, the delegation praised the great role played by the United Arab Emirates through the field hospital, which represents an active model for the emergency humanitarian response in the crisis areas.

In the context of the continuous Emirati support, the UAE, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, presented a new convoy of various medicines and medical supplies to the Gaza Strip hospitals, in order to enhance the capabilities of the health system and meet urgent needs.

The operation of the “Al -Faris 3” was introduced about three weeks ago, two medical convoys in coordination with the World Health Organization, who were allocated to support the sector’s hospitals, along with an additional convoy that was submitted directly to Gaza hospitals, which reflects the UAE’s firm commitment to the support of the Palestinian health sector.

The “Al -Faris 3” operation confirms that supporting the health sector in the Gaza Strip is a top priority within its humanitarian efforts, as a continuation of the UAE’s steadfast approach in supporting the Palestinian people, and providing medical support to patients in the sector.
