Fujairah on the first of September / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the Emirates Federation for Body Building and Fitness, witnessed the conclusion of the first Fujairah World Chess Championship, with the participation of 600 players from 75 countries around the world, at the headquarters of the new building of the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi honored the winners of the championship categories, as the results came in their categories as follows, where he won the first place in the single -star category and the gold medal and the Indian championship cup “Barnaf in” with seven points, second and the American silver medal “Jacob Brandon”, with six points, in the third place and the bronze medal with the same balance, went In favor of the Mexican “Martinez Alcantara, Jose Eduardo”.

In the Masters category, he won first place alone, the gold medal and the American championship cup “Hardway Berganton” with seven and a half points, secondly, and the Turkish silver medal “Akbas Omut Ata” with six points, in third place and the bronze medal with the same balance, where the Iranian “Ashraf Artin” went.

In the Open Category Open, he won first place alone, the gold medal, and the Kazakh Championship Cup “Olyzhan” with eight points, and the Armenian silver medal “David Barkisian” with a score of seven and a half point, and in third place and the bronze medal, the “Naar” player of Turkmenistan with the same balance.

Dr. Abdullah Al Barakat, First Vice President of the International Federation for Chess Cheation Chairman, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Championship, stressed that the first edition of the tournament was with a remarkable participation of players from different countries of the world, pointing to the keenness and attention of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, to support chess and encourage young people and those interested in its practice and organize its heroism, which contributes to enhancing the position of the Emirate of Fujairah as an attractive center Mental issues at the region and the world level.

Dr. Abdullah Al Barakat also noted that the tournament aims to enhance the leadership of the UAE and the Emirate of Fujairah in hosting international championships, developing the skills of local players and courts, raising the level of chess in the region and attracting game lovers from the world.

The conclusion of the championship was attended by Mrs. Dana Raynis, Vice -Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Chess Federation, Mrs. Tishiboso Le Bank, President of the African Chess Federation, His Excellency Mohamed Al Masoudi, President of the Saudi Chess Federation, His Excellency Tarim Matar, President of the Emirates Chess Federation, and a number of heads of chess federations.
