"Council of Muslim Elders": Charitable work is an urgent humanitarian and moral necessity that enhances global stability
Abu Dhabi, September 5 / WAM / The Council of Muslim Elderly, headed by His Excellency the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, affirmed that the International Day of Charitable Action represents an important annual station to emphasize the role of charitable work in enhancing the values of global solidarity and human solidarity, at a time when humanitarian crises are exacerbated as a result of the crises, wars, conflicts, natural disasters and the repercussions of climate change today.
The council said in a statement on this occasion, which corresponds to September 5 of each year, that giving is a great human value and a common responsibility, contributing to building safe and stable societies, based on the foundations of justice, equality and compassion, explaining that Islam has given great interest in charitable work, and urged to spread goodness and extend a helping hand to the poor, the needy, the displaced and the marginalized, as it is one of the greatest kinships to God Almighty The main pillars in building a coherent society dominated by love and brotherhood.
The Council of Muslim Elders called for intensifying efforts and promoting humanitarian initiatives in order to meet the needs of the most vulnerable and poverty groups, stressing that charitable work is not a secondary option, but rather an urgent humanitarian and moral necessity that contributes to promoting global stability.
The Council affirmed its efforts to enhance the values of humanitarian brotherhood and global solidarity, based on the principles of the human brother’s document signed by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar Al -Sharif, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Elders, and the late His Holiness Pope Francis in Abu Dhabi in 2019, which called for the relief of the weak, the needy, the victims and the oppressed, without exclusion or discrimination.
The Council praised the humanitarian initiatives launched by the UAE and its wise leadership, which represents a global model in the field of charitable and relief work, stressing that such inspiring efforts are practically translating the values of human solidarity, and contributes to supporting poor and affected societies in various parts of the world.
