For the first time in America .. Derbon Heights police write its logo in Arabic

The Derborn Heights Police Department in Michigan revealed a new police slogan designed by its officers, and contains the Arabic language for the first time in the country.

Police confirmed to “Fox 2” channel on Wednesday that the administration has a new optional badge that officers can wear as part of their official uniforms.

The emblem includes the Michigan state logo in the middle, with the phrase “Derborn Heights” written in English and Arabic.

According to the police, the officer was designed by Ermeli Mordok the badge to reflect the diversity of society in the city and honor this diversity.

The percentage of Derborn Heights population of Middle Eastern or North African descent was 39% as of 2023, while in neighboring Dearborn, about 55%.

“We are proud of the creativity of the officer Mardouk and her dedication in helping our department to represent those we serve better.”

She added: “Our officers serve all members of our society proudly, and this new design is another way to continue to celebrate the rich cultures that distinguish our city.”
