International Forum for Government Communication .. A platform for renewing ideas and highlighting successful experiences

Sharjah, September 7 / WAM / The media office of the Sharjah government will launch on September 10 and 11, the work of the 14th edition of the International Forum for Governmental Communication at the Expo Center Sharjah with a rich agenda that brings up 237 international speakers from governments, international experts, academics, and pioneers of thought and innovation within a program that exceeds 110 activities under the slogan “Communication for the Quality of Life”, and includes sessions and inspiring discussions and speeches Various workshops.

The forum focuses in the course of the year on the quality of life as a vital priority that constitutes the essence of development policies and the pillar of human well -being, and discusses the role and importance of communication in converting development visions into a reality that contributes to enhancing confidence between governments and the public and establishes societal partnership in decision -making.
The forum brings together a group of specialists at the Sharjah Expo to discuss urgent humanitarian and development issues that are directly related to the quality of life quality from food security, health and education to environmental sustainability and the green economy.
His Excellency Tariq Allai, Director General of the Media Office of the Sharjah Government, said in an interview with the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, that the forum is a platform for renewing ideas and not only a policy review, and seeks to focus on innovations and give the public inspiring stories and practical examples, where innovators provide applicable solutions while decision -makers are completed in other sessions, with the aim of bringing global issues to people through humanitarian models And practical experiences.

He added that during the past years the forum achieved a great development in the government communication system at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah, from merely “transferring messages” to building long -term communication confidence and strategies, as well as a culture of a culture of measuring impact, not only that media activities are not satisfied with media activities, pointing out that government communication in Sharjah has today become a regional model to follow and an integrated institutional system.
He pointed out that one of the manifestations of this development is the establishment of legislative frameworks for communication and the launch of media initiatives and specialized institutions (such as Sharjah 24 news site) and the integration of artificial intelligence tools and data in communication campaigns, explaining that monitoring this development is done through evaluating policies and practices and the participation of government agencies in the government communication award, studies and research issued by the forum.

He said that the Emirate of Sharjah has taken advanced steps at the level of food security programs, and this appears in (smart agriculture, support for the local product, self -sufficiency initiatives), and public health emerges through (hospitals, readiness research centers for crises) and education is achieved in (future curricula and investment in universities and international partnerships), while the environment axis appears in (reserves, sustainable projects, clean energy projects and adoption Sustainability as a strategy and general orientation), and the green economy is also reflected in (governmental and private investments in sustainable technologies).
He stressed the importance of the role of the media in reshaping the individual behavior in adopting a more aware and responsible lifestyle. And the media, as well as a partner of governments in enhancing confidence, simplifying visions and concepts of society and turning policies into practices on the ground.
On monitoring positive effects or forum outputs on university students participating in the forum’s work, Allai explained that students are involved in workshops and challenges such as universities challenge and challenge the skills of artificial intelligence and the global challenge of public relations and the positive effects are monitored for that through the follow -up of the projects provided by students and the conversion of the boss into experimental initiatives and the evaluation of the impact on acquired skills (through research The offer and the analysis) and the creation of a network of communication between students and experts to measure the continuity of cooperation after the forum, stressing that the forum is a practical education platform for them and not just a presence.
He pointed out that the forum witnesses this year the launch of the Sharjah version of the global public relations challenge, as this challenge links students locally and globally in a competition to develop real communication campaigns and embodies its importance by looking at its goals that focus on enhancing practical youth skills and linking academic education to realistic practice, and giving students the opportunity to present their ideas to international experts and link academic education to the global practical experience in addition to strengthening the Sharjah site as a custody For media innovation, and submitting an added value, as it comes out with campaigns that can be implemented on the ground.
Alie said that the Sharjah Government Communication Award received over the past years thousands of participants from dozens of countries in reflecting their international position and this year there is a great registration in categories such as: the best integrated communication system and the best innovation in government communication and the best strategy in crises along with new youth and creative categories and the most prominent posts came from: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan, in addition to various European and Asian participation.
He stressed the importance of international award partners such as the Network of Executive Presidents and Asia House and the African Partnership Alliance, where there are many partners’ roles and expand the visions and aspirations that they intersect with us. For cooperation between local and international experiences.
On plans to develop the award in terms of adding new categories or renewing the evaluation methods, Allai said that the development continues since its inception and is embodied in adding new groups for almost each session and to keep pace with development in a permanent way. And credibility.
