"Arkfest" The conclusion of the Dubai Racing Carnival takes place at the Meydan Racecourse
Dubai, March 14 / WAM / The 16th and final evening of the Dubai Racing Carnival season concluded at the Meydan Racecourse, before the most prominent event on the global racing calendar, the Dubai World Cup, scheduled to be held on March 28.
The evening witnessed the holding of 8 diverse races on sand and grass tracks, with the participation of 109 horses from the elite local and international horses, competing for total prizes amounting to 1.785 million dirhams, at the conclusion of the carnival competitions, which is the final stop of the carnival racing season in Dubai.
The horse “Arqivest”, owned by Shaar and Ithnan Racing, topped the most prominent races of the evening by winning the title of the “BHI Advertising” Equal Race, led by jockey Pat Dobbs and supervised by trainer Hamad Al-Juhani, finishing the race ahead by two and a quarter lengths from “Indian Springs.”
The evening witnessed the brilliance of knight Taj O’Shea, who achieved a double that strengthened the chances of coach Bobat Simar in competing for the title of best coach during the season.
The second victory came from the horse “Diamond Diller” in the “Binghatti Equal Race”, after he started strongly in the last meters to win the race by three lengths from “Nam Freak”.
The horse “Russell” also won the “ARN Beginner” race over a distance of 1400 meters on the sand track, recording his first victory after 7 starts, giving trainer Simar and jockey O’Shea their first victory in their duo during the evening.
In the seventh race, a distance of 2410 meters on the grass track, the training duo Simon Crisford and Ed Crisford continued their distinguished results during the season, after jockey Ray Dawson led the horse “Will Scarlett” to win the “Autism in Racing” Equal Race by four lengths from “Finally Tuned”.
The mare, “Lahfti,” under the supervision of trainer Michael Costa, achieved her sixth victory in her career, after winning the “Zoho Equalization Race” for a distance of 1,200 meters on the sand track, led by jockey Silvestre de Sousa, ahead by half a length from “Billy Webster.”
Trainer Karim Ramadan scored a remarkable achievement by achieving his first victory this season and the first victory in his career at the Meydan track, after he led the horse “Blue Trail” to win the “ARN Equal” race for a distance of 1800 meters, two lengths ahead of “Tohoku”, led by the Brazilian jockey Francisco Leandro Goncalves.
In another race, the horse “Lahrish” gave trainer Musabah Al Muhairi a new victory at the Meydan Racecourse, after he narrowly outperformed “Mont Blade”, so that the French rider Jules Maubien achieved his first victory at the Meydan Racecourse.
The filly “Turquoise”, under the supervision of trainer Abdullah Al Hammadi, opened the evening by winning the second round of the Triple Crown for Purebred Arabian Horses over a distance of 1,800 meters on the grass track, led by jockey Charlie Bennett, ahead by half a length from RB Al Qahir.
