The longest for a quarter of a century … power cuts for hours from the German capital

The company operating the electricity networks in the German capital, Berlin, said that the wide power outage in the southeast of the city is the longest electricity period in Berlin, for less than 25 years.
In comments to the German News Agency, Henrik Puister said in Berlin that the interruption period has already exceeded the last period of a large interruption in 2019 in the Copenik neighborhood.
He added that the repair of high pressure cables, which was destroyed by a fire attack suspected of the implementation of left -wing extremists, is going in full swing in the Johanistal neighborhood.
He explained that the plan is to re -provide all customers with electricity no later than Thursday evening.
He said: “This is for us a completely new quality. We, as a company, have not faced such an attack, such a fire, before in this way.”
The spokesman noted that the company reached a “very innovative solution”, as parts of the large electricity network are being linked using special connections that have not been linked together before.
The spokesman stated that 99% of the power network in Berlin – which is 35,000 km long – buried underground, said that the remaining remaining part of the air lines is easier to target, “something on its way to extinction.”
It is noteworthy that the current outage in the vicinity of the Adlarszov neighborhood, where an important technological area is located, initially cut off the electrical current since Tuesday morning from about 50 thousand homes and company.
Until Wednesday, closed schools remained, in addition to the suburban train stations, shopping centers, some shops and care homes.
The interruption included no hospital, as there are no hospitals in the affected area.
