According to the Federal Traffic and Traffic Law, the violation of standing in the middle of the road without justification is 1000 dirhams and six traffic points, and the transit of pedestrians without the designated places is 400 dirhams, and not to stop when opening the “Stand” arm 1000 dirhams, with a total of 2400 dirhams.

The Ministry of Interior called on drivers and parents to adhere to the traffic and traffic laws in the vicinity of schools, take precautions related to the integrity of the vehicle, the importance of adhering to the speeds specified in the streets surrounding schools, not being busy with a road by using mobile phones while driving, adhering to the traffic lines, leaving a safe distance, in addition to giving pedestrians priority when crossing the road.

The Ministry of Interior statistics revealed that traffic departments at the state level recorded 24 thousand and 28 violations against drivers due to the failure to stop while watching the “Stay” signal for students’ transport vehicles (bus).

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Traffic Council, in coordination with the general police leaders in the country, with the start of the current academic year, launched a “safe academic year” campaign within the efforts to promote traffic safety, and emphasize the importance of protection and smoothness of traffic, which provides a safe environment for students since the first day of the study.

Major Khaled Obaid Al -Dhaheri, from the Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols in Abu Dhabi Police, alerted through the “Security and Security” program, which is broadcast by the Abu Dhabi Police through its platforms, to wrong behaviors by some parents, which is the random parking of vehicles in the vicinity of the roads leading to schools, as this leads to obstructing traffic and traffic, and the possibility of serious traffic accidents.

He revealed the most important common traffic violations that are committed near schools, which are the random parking of vehicles, and the lack of full standing when watching the opening of the “Stay” arm for the buses, indicating that it is considered one of the most dangerous violations that may cause fatal accidents, as well as a violation of the transit of pedestrians without the places designated for their crossing.

He stressed that the aim of the traffic violation is to deter the wrong behaviors of drivers or pedestrians, calling on parents and students to cross the road from the designated places, and not to cross in a random manner, which may cause traffic accidents.

Al -Dhahiri pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Police prepared for the new academic year, in cooperation with the strategic partners, to secure the return of students to their academic seats, and to reach the highest levels of traffic safety, pointing out that this comes within the priorities of the Abu Dhabi Police in enhancing security and safety, and road security to provide the highest traffic safety standards for our student children while they are going to school and returning from them.

He pointed to the Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to enhance awareness and traffic culture, by holding workshops for bus operators and public transport, as well as students and parents, to confirm the strategic goal of Abu Dhabi Police in spreading awareness and traffic culture.

On the most important field points that are focused on by the police, Al -Dhahiri pointed to the promotion of the security presence by spreading patrols on the most important vital areas and those that are expected to witness the intensity of vehicles, in order to maintain the smooth flow of traffic, facilitate the passage of vehicles, as well as the presence of patrols, trafficists and motorcycle patrols near schools to regulate traffic, and facilitate the descent of students from buses, as well as stopping vehicles in the designated places.

He stressed that the responsibility of our student children is the responsibility of everyone, calling on the parents of students to adhere to the speeds set by schools, in order to avoid traffic accidents, and also not to be busy through any way or by using the phone, as this violation is one of the most causes of traffic accidents, and to stand when watching an accident of a distance of no less than five meters in both directions.
