Al -Wasl opens his career in the “AFC Champions League 2” to face Iranian independence

Dubai, September 11/ WAM/ Al-Wasl Club begins its career in the “AFC Champions League 2 ™”, facing Iranian independence on September 17, at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai at 8:00 pm, within the first group competitions of the 21st edition of the continental championship, which started with its new identity in the 2024-2025 season.
Al -Wasl, the UAE league champion eight times, is playing his first participation in this updated version of the tournament, while independence will participate after crowning the Iran Cup for the eighth time in its history.
The Asian Football Confederation confirmed in its statement today, that the tournament, which is held with the participation of 32 teams distributed in eight groups in the West and East Asian regions, will witness the emergence of 13 clubs for the first time, including prominent clubs in the region such as Saudi victory, Al -Ahly Qatari, and Turkmen Arcadag.
In the most prominent confrontations of West Asia, the Saudi victory meets with the independence of the Tajiki Doshbah at the King Saud University stadium in Riyadh, and the Jordanian Hussein faces his Iranian counterpart Sebhan at the Amman International Stadium, and the Qatari Al -Ahly receives the Bahraini club Al -Khalidiya at Al -Thumama Stadium in Doha, and the Turkmen Arcadag opens his career to Andgon Uzbek, in the first continental appearance of the two teams.
The competitions continue in East Asia on September 17 and 18, where the Japanese Jamba Osaka meeting with Istren from Hong Kong, and the confrontation of Beijing FC with the Vietnamese Kong Annoy, who scores the first continental participation after winning his country’s cup.
The championship in its new version is a platform to enhance continental competition, after its structure by the Asian Football Confederation, to provide greater opportunities for emerging clubs to achieve continental appearance and enhance competitive presence.
