The UAE contributes to training participating officers with an international operation against sexual assault on children

The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the United Nations Institute for Crime Research and Justice (UnicriIn training law enforcement officers in (10) countries from Latin America who participated in the implementation of the international process against exploitation and sexual assault on children via the Internet, a process led by Argentina and was carried out simultaneously in 15 countries that included: Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Paraguay, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and the United States.

The training was held in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, as part of the “AI Intelligence Intelligence Intelligence” initiative launched by the United Nations Institute and the Ministry of Interior in 2020, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement devices around the world to employ artificial intelligence technologies to combat children’s sexual exploitation crimes.

The impact of training in supporting a major international process led by the Republic of Argentina under the name “International Operation Against Exploitation and Sexual Assault on Children online”, where the process resulted in qualitative results represented in the liberation of (73) inspection note in the participating countries, arresting (22) suspects on charges of possession, production or distribution of sexual exploitation materials for children, rescue (15) children and adolescents, and carry out (32) arrest, And the confiscation of (393) various electronic devices, to represent a qualitative blow to the perpetrators of this type of crime, and that the UAE remain a global leader in enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement devices and the workforce in protecting children, and contributing to ensuring their security and safety.
