The university is the first of its kind in the world that is fully specialized in artificial intelligence, and aims to build national capabilities in the field of talent development, scientific research and innovation, which contributes to supporting the national strategy of artificial intelligence 2031 and its translation on the ground in the fields of education, economy and society.

Professor Timothy Baldwin, Dean of Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence and Professor of Natural Language, said that the university’s strategic vision is based on 3 main axes that include attracting and developing the best global talents in the field of artificial intelligence, pushing advanced research in national priority sectors, and empowering innovation through partnerships and entrepreneurship.

He stressed in statements to the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, that the university is classified today among the 10 best universities in the world in the field of artificial intelligence, as it includes about 700 students, with an admission rate not exceeding 5%, and more than 8000 requests to enroll in 2025, and this year witnessed a historic station with the reception of the first batch of students of the undergraduate program, extensively extending its academic programs, which contributes to preparing a new generation of intelligence leaders Artificial.

He added that the university, as well as its educational mission, contributes to enhancing the state’s agenda for economic diversification and innovation through the nursery and entrepreneurship center (IEC), as well as the growth of local startups through guidance, providing access to financing, and organizing activities to communicate with partners, as well as strategic partnerships with major global technology companies, research institutions, and government agencies, to ensure that research is directed towards Actual challenges.

He explained that the university’s research focuses on the priority fields in which artificial intelligence can have a tangible impact, such as founding models, health care, energy and sustainability, and robots, while its research teams are working to develop leading linguistic models, predictive tools for health care, advanced climatic models, and innovative solutions in adaptive robots.

He referred to the “AIDO” digital organism project, which is the first multi -standardized constituent model in the world for biology, aimed at simulating and predicting vital systems across multiple levels; The university has contributed a major role in developing this project, which supports national initiatives such as the “Emirati Genome Program”, and opens new horizons to predict diseases, discover medicines, and personal medicine.

He said that the Mohammed bin Zayed University Academy for Artificial Intelligence is working to expand the adoption of artificial intelligence across the various sectors, through executive and professional training programs targeting leaders and decision makers such as the executive program that provides leaders in the UAE with practical tools to employ artificial intelligence in their work, indicating in this context that the academy will launch in October the global program to lead artificial intelligence that will bring together the elite of decision makers from parts of the world To explore the pioneering Emirates model in artificial intelligence applications.

He stressed that the university’s efforts are consistent with the UAE’s vision to consolidate its position as a global center for artificial intelligence; The university is a destination to attract the best global competencies, a platform for international cooperation and support for research and innovation in this field from the heart of the Emirates.

He pointed to the university’s keenness to accelerate its career to redefine artificial intelligence by launching prominent academic programs in 2025; As it already started with the launch of the first Bachelor’s program in the history of the university, which is the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, which provides two distinguished tracks, the course of the business and the engineering path, to meet the requirements of future jobs.

He explained that the opening batch of the program includes more than 110 students, the citizens of the state constitute more than 25% of them, which reflects a new standard for excellence, influence and comprehensiveness in teaching artificial intelligence.

He added that this year will also witness the launch of 3 new programs at the level of graduate studies, which are a master’s degree in applied artificial intelligence, a master’s degree in statistics and data science, and a doctorate in robots, in order to complete the graduate studies programs currently existing in computer science, computer vision, machine learning, and natural language processing.
