The Italian coach pointed out that “the list of injuries included prominent names such as: Edir Milito, Antonio Rodiger, David Alaba, Ferland Mende and Danny Carvajal … all of these players are very important, and we missed them in decisive stages of the season, so how can we achieve titles in such circumstances.”

“Sometimes we had to play with defenders only, and one of them was just the next Raul Asensio from the club’s academy, and although he performed well, the circumstances were difficult,” Ancelotti said.

Ancelotti’s statements open the door to questions about Real Madrid’s ability with the new coach Xabi Alonso to deal with the problems and crises that he may face in the current season, especially if he is exposed to such a number of injuries, and will Real Madrid return after Ancelotti’s departure to compete for all local and European championships in the new technical mentality?
