“Abu Dhabi District” is sentenced to 15 years imprisonment against 8 convicts in cases of exploitation of children
The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court issued rulings on convicting 8 accused of sexual exploitation crimes of children via the Internet, after luring them through electronic gaming platforms and social media, and their seduction to send pornography, in addition to possessing and exchange of inappropriate content for children.
The sentences issued in prison ranged between 3 years and 15 years, with financial fines that reached one million dirhams, with the confiscation of phones and devices used to commit crimes, depriving the convicts of the use of any future information network, and closing their electronic accounts related to these crimes, while deporting the state for three convicts after the implementation of the punishment.
The rulings of conviction came after extensive investigations conducted by the Public Prosecution in Abu Dhabi, following the monitoring of suspicious activities via the Internet and cases of electronic exploitation targeting the palace category, to issue an order to arrest and bring the accused and summon them for the investigation, as they admitted to committing the crimes attributed to them, while technical examinations of their electronic devices proved the presence of pornographic materials belonging to children, obtained and circulated through technical means Information.
Based on the results of the investigations, the Public Prosecution referred the accused to the competent criminal court, whose rulings were issued to condemn all the accused in these cases in accordance with the applicable laws.
For its part, the Abu Dhabi Prosecution warned the community members against communicating with unknown persons through social media, or providing them with any data, information or personal photos that may be used in electronic blackmail.
Parents also urged to follow their children and make them aware of the danger of accepting friendships by unknown people through websites, social media platforms and electronic games, or sharing their photos and personal data, and making them aware of how to behave when falling into the trap of extortion.
