Mohsen Ali Al -Nassi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Inspection and Compliance, said that the “application of” labor protection policy from thermal stress “for the 21st year in a row, stresses the firmness of the humanitarian approach that the state adopts in the labor market, including employment protection policies according to an integrated system aimed at providing a safe work environment, responding to the best practices and requirements of professional health and safety, and in a way that avoids the workforce, the injuries and damage that may It is produced as a result of working in high temperatures during the summer months. “
He pointed out that the commitment of the private sector to this policy confirms its awareness of its positive repercussions on the health and safety of workers, especially in the summer months, which has become a solid practice among companies operating in the country and priority of its priorities in the context of providing protection for workers in accordance with the standards and requirements of occupational health and safety.
For its part, Dalal Al -Shehhi, the Acting Undersecretary for the Acting Work Protection Sector, appreciated the efforts of the ministry’s partners from the government and private sectors as well as members of the community in implementing a policy of “labor protection from heat stress” through the initiatives witnessed by the campaign, which confirms the interest that employment in the UAE, as a major partner in the process of sustainable development, enhancing state leadership, and the success of its ambitious economic orientations, and level Social responsibility, moral principles and noble human values of the UAE that have succeeded in transforming the protection and promotion of workers ‘rights into a firm culture in various components of society, by supporting workers’ protection, developing the umbrella of social protection, policies and legislation, and achieving the happiness of workers and their participation in occasions and holidays.
The campaign this year witnessed the provision of more than 10 thousand air -conditioned breaks equipped with amenities for the purpose of using it by delivery services workers in all regions of the country in parallel with initiatives to provide refreshments and integrated diets, as well as organizing awareness campaigns about the dangers of exposure to thermal exhaustion in the summer and conducting medical examinations for employment at the state level.
The requirements of the “employment protection from heat stress” policy imposed obligations on companies and employers, by providing shaded places for workers during the period of stopping work or during their practice of licensed business, securing appropriate cooling tools, and providing sufficient quantities of water and moisturizing materials such as salts and their counterparts, which is approved for use from the local authorities in the country, in addition to providing first ambulance equipment in workplaces.
