There are no plans to close Carrefour or the opening of “Hyper Max” in the UAE

The CEO of “Majid Al Futtaim Retail Company”, Dr. Gonher Heimal, confirmed that there are no plans for the group at the present time to close “Carrefour” in the UAE market, or the opening of the “Hyper Max” series that replaced the “Carrefour” brand in some Arab countries.
He said in television statements that each challenge generates some opportunities, and that “Majid Al Futtaim” responded to its customers in Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Oman, by meeting their needs more, and interacting with them more, by focusing on offering local source products and goods at reasonable prices.
He stressed that the decision to open the “Hyper Max” in those countries instead of “Carrefour” was the group’s decision, pointing out that the group recently opened the first supermarket of its kind for children, for the first time in the Emirates, indicating that it provides food, games, entertainment, and shopping for children at the same time.
It is noteworthy that “Majid Al Futtaim Retail” has exclusive rights to run the “Carrefour” chain in the Emirates.
