A British official raises controversy with his unconventional clothes on a military occasion

The new mayor of the town of “Henley On Times” in the British Oxfordshire Province, Tom Backer, caused a wave of controversy after appearing at an official ceremony dedicated to the Royal Marine Corps, the Army and the Air Force, wearing a colored shirt, sports shoes, and short pants, without wearing socks, and pictures of him were taken with these clothes alongside the students during the gathering that was held in the hall Municipality, last Monday.
This unusual appearance sparked widespread criticism from some of the town’s residents, as a number of them considered that the mayor’s clothes lacking respect, and the professional required in such official occasions, and 12 people from the residents of the local newspaper “Henley Standard” sent their dissatisfaction with the appearance of the mayor.
One of the commentators on the newspaper’s page on the social networking site “Facebook”, saying: “Calm, mayor, and wear a suit and tie as appropriate for the occasion”, while another wrote: “This dress style is disappointed, and is not respected”, while a third saw that the mayor showed “a lack of clear respect” towards the students participating in the ceremony.
But Bakli did not hesitate to defend his options, but stood firmly in the face of criticism, stressing that his appearance reflects a personal conviction, and a desire to break the stereotype associated with official positions.
He said that he does not see that the position should impose on the responsible person a certain pattern of dress or a style of life, adding: “We must rethink the prior concepts of people, and I will not allow the position to draw the features of my life, and the official chains will not push me to form a superficial image of myself.”
Pacquel, who has more than 25 years of experience in the field of information technology, considered that the criticisms directed at him express personal positions that are not based on realistic foundations, but rather questioned the intentions of some critics, saying that many of them do not live in Henley and have not voted in the elections.
Although he realizes that his style will not receive a general acceptance for everyone, he stressed that true respect must be for those who make constructive contributions to society, and not for those who adhere to the form away from the content. About “The Times”
