The undefeated colt “Bo Echo” is champion of the British “Sussex Stakes”.

The undefeated colt “Bo Echo”, with the logo of the heirs of Sheikh Mohammed bin Obaid Al Maktoum, continued to write chapters of his brilliance, after he was crowned the title of the “Sussex Stakes” race designated for the first category “Group 1” horses for a distance of a mile (1600 meters) on the grass track, which was held today, Wednesday, in the main half of the second day of the prestigious British “Goodwood” Festival, which continues until next Saturday.

“Bou Echo” is supervised by coach George Bougie, who led him to his sixth successive victory, and his third in the “Group 1” races, after winning the English “2000 Guineas” and “St. James’s Palace Stakes” titles this season, which were held last May and June at the British Newmarket and Ascot racetracks.

With this achievement, “Bo Echo” joined the elite list of colts that succeeded in combining the titles of the “2000 Guineas”, “St. James’s Palace Stakes” and “Sussex Stakes” in one season, along with immortal names, most notably “Brigadier Gerrard” (1971), “Bolkonsky” (1975), “Rock of Gibraltar” (2002), and “Henry the Navigator.” (2008), and the legendary “Frankl” (2011).

Jockey Billy Logan led the colt to victory in a distinctive style, after maintaining his calm in the early stages of the race, before unleashing him in the final meters, to seize the lead and cross the finish line first with a time of one minute and 36.77 seconds, half a length ahead of the Irish colt “Guestad”, under the supervision of trainer Aidan O’Brien and led by jockey Ryan Moore.

The Emirati presence on the podium was completed by the colt “Opera Palo”, wearing the “Godolphin” team logo, under the supervision of coach Charlie Appleby, and led by jockey William Buick, in third place.
