His Highness continued, “May God have mercy on Rashid … He was a lover of good … Merciful to those around him … Today, his bid turns into a reality that changes the lives of many, and restores them hope and trust in the future … May God have mercy on those who lived generous and moved dearly … may God have mercy on those who left in the hearts of everyone who knew him with a good impact.”
And His Highness added, “Our goal is to become the villages of Rashid a turning point in the lives of other families … to be beacons of hope … a source of a decent life … embodying Dubai’s message that good does not know limits, and that giving is a continuous approach that sows hope and pave the way for growth and stability.”
This global humanitarian initiative aims to build integrated exemplary villages called “Rashid Villages” that provide families benefiting from various groups of decent life, such as housing, education, health care, social services and economic opportunities, within a comprehensive development framework that reshapes the concept of human support and gives the targeted groups an incubator environment that enhances their ability to advance the reality of the need for empowerment, productivity and stability paths.
The first phase of the project is launched from the Republic of Kenya, where the first village of “Rashid Villages” will be built on an area of 72 dunums (7.2 hectares) according to sustainable foundations that take into account the use of renewable energy sources, in a way that provides the beneficiary families as a decent life and gives them the ability to restore their role in their societies and participate in building a better future.
This stage will include furnished and fully equipped houses that provide stability and dignity for families, in addition to a large mosque and a multi -use hall that can accommodate more than 500 people to be a meeting place for societal activities and activities, as well as stand -up commercial stores to contribute to stimulating the economic movement and providing sustainable income sources, in addition to paved streets linking village facilities and facilitating the population movement and supports economic and social activities.
In the context of empowering youth, the project will include a football field and a sports academy that invests their energies and supports their talents, as well as providing an integrated infrastructure that includes fire alarm systems and surveillance cameras to ensure security and safety, and a modern lighting network that relies on solar panels. About 1700 people are expected to benefit from this village that makes it a real starting point towards a fundamental change in the lives of hundreds of families.
The initiative will continue to expand its human impact by building a model village every year, which contributes to commemorating the legacy of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed, may God bless him, in humanitarian work, and consolidate the values of good that he instilled in his life by turning them into a reality that serves the less fortunate societies and changes their lives for the better.
Education is an essential axis within the “Rashid Villages” initiative, where cooperation with the digital school, one of the initiatives of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will be made to provide a qualitative program called “Rashid Education Project”, with the aim of providing school education for children through an integrated digital system that enhances school education and blocks the educational gap.
In addition to digital support, the village will include a modern school capable of accommodating more than 320 students to ensure new generations have their right to education and open up future prospects.
The initiative also provides development programs aimed at enabling families through training programs and small projects that guarantee them additional income that enhances their economic and social stability and reduces their dependence on aid, by providing them with the professional skills necessary to launch sustainable projects in literal and commercial fields, as well as providing the financial and technical support necessary to launch confidently towards the future. The initiative also provides an integrated support system that includes continuous follow -up and specialized guidance, in a manner that guarantees the sustainability of projects and enhances the ability of families to achieve self -sufficiency, through deliberate plans that keep pace with their needs and take into account the privacy of their social and economic conditions.
On the health front, and within the framework of improving the quality of life within the targeted societies, the village will include a health center that provides medical and therapeutic care services to its residents, as well as an integrated infrastructure that includes sewage systems, upper and ground water tanks and wells to ensure the continuity of fresh water supplies.
The initiative also cooperates with prestigious international humanitarian institutions with the aim of providing preventive medical services, as the initiative seeks through these services to enhance the health of children and their families and fill the existing gaps in health care systems within developing areas.
“Rashid Villages” also seeks to build the capabilities of the local community by training society in first aid and preventive care, in a way that contributes to building a safe and sustainable healthy environment that supports its humanitarian and development path.
