And recent data issued by «O AG», which “Emirates Today” obtained a copy of it, showed that Dubai International Airport continues to establish its position as the largest airport in the region and the world in terms of international seat capacity, with expectations that its capacity would reach about 124.4 million seats, up from 104 million a decade ago.

The Foundation stated that “Dubai International” is the largest axis of international air transport in the world, which strengthens its gains as a prominent market for the connection between East and West, and it maintains the largest share in the linking movement between Asia and the Pacific and Europe, as it acquired more than 15% of the total movement between the two regions in 2025, ahead of other transport airports.

She pointed out that Dubai Airport is still the most attractive center for transit traffic, taking advantage of its strategic location and a wide network of more than 284 destinations worldwide.

According to the institution’s data, the airports of the region, including Dubai Airport, plans to increase its capabilities significantly by 2050, as the total planned capacity planned exceeding 844 million passengers annually, more than twice the current numbers of 341 million. In this context, Dubai Airport is expected to remain a pivotal player in the global aviation system, taking advantage of its established position as a president’s gate linking the East to the West, and as a head of the major airlines.

According to the Foundation, there is only one airport in the world belonging to the 100 million passengers, which is Atlanta Airport in the United States, where it received slightly more than 108 million passengers in 2024. However, other airports approached this goal, where Dubai Airport received the second most crowded airports in the world, 92.3 million passengers in 2024, which represents an increase of 6.1% compared to 2023, which is what The weak growth in Atlanta Airport (3.3% on an annual basis) is close, which indicates that if Dubai Airport continues this path, it will soon be attached to Atlanta.

In addition, data «OAG» showed that Dubai International Airport recorded more than 5.1 million seats scheduled for international flights, 5.34 million in August, compared to 5.28 in July, 5.1 in June, while about 5.2 million seats in May, about 5 million seats in April, 5.16 million in March, 4.78 million seats in February, 5.3 million seats in January 2025, bringing the total number of scheduled seats at the airport during the first nine months of this year to 46.26 million seats (more than 92.5 million seats in both directions).
