The UAE participates in the 42nd meetings of the general "ICAO" Montreal

Dubai, September 23 / WAM / The UAE will participate in the work of the 42nd session of the General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which was launched today in Montreal and continues until October 3, with an official delegation headed by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al -Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and includes 100 representatives of the civil aviation sector in the country, and with the participation of His Excellency Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
The work of the general assembly this year is witnessing the election of members of the ICAO Council, as the UAE is looking to renew its seat in the council, which reflects the leadership role and international confidence in its place in supporting and developing the civil aviation sector globally.
His Excellency Saif Muhammad Al -Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said that the participation of the UAE in the work of the General Assembly of the Ecoa this year comes to reflect our continuous commitment to support the international civil aviation system, and to enhance safety, efficiency and sustainability in the global aviation sector, indicating that the state is represented by a large delegation that includes national competencies from various parties concerned, and reflects Emirati experience and excellence in this vital sector.
He added that the accompanying activities, from the laboratory specializing in artificial intelligence to the summit of youth and workshops, aim to enhance innovation and exchange experiences with our international partners, in a way that contributes to further development of the world aviation policies and practices globally.
The UAE, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, is organizing a full program of events accompanying the work of the meeting, most notably the Emirati laboratory specializing in artificial intelligence in aviation, which provides a practical vision on ways to employ artificial intelligence techniques to enhance safety, raise operational efficiency, and accelerate the shift towards a more sustainable flight sector.
The authority also organizes the state wing under the slogan “Together we rise to global aviation”, and the pavilion offers a comprehensive offer for the achievements of the UAE and its expertise in developing the aviation sector and linking innovation to sustainability, in which both Sanad, Emirates Airlines, Flei Dubai, Abu Dhabi Airports, the Mobility Center – Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Air, and the Federation Academy for Aviation Training, “Archs” company, Choppershoot, the International Center for Aviation and Training Consulting -AICT, commercial and training arm of the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
During the meeting period, the General Authority of Civil Aviation is also organizing the youth summit in the aviation sector, as part of the program to enable the next generation for professionals working in the field of aviation.
The Summit Organization comes in cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), with the support of the National Civil Aviation Authority in Brazil, the International Airport Council, the International Coordination Council for Aviation and Space Industry Federations, the European Air Navigation Safety Organization, and the global action team for aviation and space skills.
The summit aims to exchange experiences, develop skills, and provide opportunities for youth to contribute to the future of the civil aviation industry globally.
The state’s participation in the work of the general assembly is also witnessing the launch of the second batch of the national program of future leaders in civil aviation, which aims to enable a group of promising Emirati competencies who enjoy the spirit of leadership and commitment, by refining their leadership and professional skills and enhancing their readiness to lead the aviation sector locally and globally.
The delegation program also includes a number of bilateral meetings with government officials from various member states in ACAO, to enhance international cooperation and exchange experiences, in addition to workshops and discussion sessions that aim to develop civil aviation policies and practices in a way that serves the growth of the sector globally.
