Sharjah Chamber launches entertainment and heritage activities in "Market Shariat Al Dhaid and Philly"

Sharjah, February 18 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched a promotional initiative targeting the Shariat Al Dhaid and Fili heritage markets, as part of the activities of the 36th edition of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival, which the Chamber is organizing until next March 25, under the slogan “The Spirit of the Month in the Heart of Sharjah.”
This initiative comes in line with the recent launches of development projects in the central region, which His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, recently opened, specifically in the city of Al Dhaid and the Veli area.
The initiative includes organizing a group of marketing, entertainment and heritage events, in cooperation with the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the Municipality of Al Dhaid City, the Municipality of Al Madam City, the Initiatives Implementation Authority in the Emirate of Sharjah (Initiative), Al Wusta Channel from Al Dhaid, the media partner, and a number of supporting partners, within the framework of the Chamber’s keenness to stimulate economic activity in the markets of the Central Region and enhance their position as attractive commercial and heritage destinations, which contributes to supporting shop owners and increasing community demand for these markets during the month. The initiative aims to enhance the cultural identity of the local community, provide a platform for social interaction and cultural exchange, increase revenues, support local vendors, stimulate economic innovation, provide educational events, as well as support tourism, and highlight the Central Region’s cultural diversity and distinctive geographical location.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, confirmed that the launch of this initiative within the Sharjah Ramadan Festival comes in line with the vision and directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah aimed at improving all development sectors in the emirate, especially in the central region.
He pointed out that the initiative reflects the Chamber’s keenness to keep pace with the development projects witnessed in the cities of Al Dhaid and Fali and enhance the quality of life by providing economic and community activities that contribute to revitalizing markets and supporting the commercial and tourism movement during the holy month of Ramadan.
He stressed that these events contribute to stimulating the retail sector, empowering business owners, and attracting visitors and shoppers, thus enhancing the competitiveness of these destinations and consolidating their role in supporting the local economy.
For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pointed out that organizing these events embodies the Chamber’s commitment to enhancing the goals of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival at the level of all cities of the emirate and translating the strategic directives into practical programs that contribute to stimulating economic activities and enhancing commercial activity in the central region.
He explained that the Chamber worked in coordination with its partners to prepare an integrated program of promotional, entertainment, heritage and cultural events to ensure the provision of an integrated shopping experience for visitors and shoppers and enhance the attractiveness of heritage markets as family and economic destinations during the holy month, stressing the importance of these initiatives in supporting owners of small and medium enterprises, stimulating local spending and providing sustainable economic value that reflects positively on the business community.
In its 36th edition, the Sharjah Ramadan Festival witnesses wide participation from major shopping malls, retail stores, international and local brands, in addition to productive families, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.
