The dollar is close to its highest level in three weeks

The dollar settled today, Thursday, and kept the gains achieved last night, at a time when customers are evaluating the possibilities of the Federal Reserve (the US Central Bank) to take care of its steps in the cash facilitation course in the wake of a cautious tone on the part of policymakers.

The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency for six other currencies, reached 97,813 to hover near its highest level in three weeks.

The index is heading to make gains for this month.

The pound settled at $ 1.3451.
