DUBAI, 22 JUNE / WAM / His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, confirmed that the “Dubai Actions” initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, embodies the philosophy of wise leadership, “may God protect it”, based on transforming ambitious visions into tangible achievements, and establishing a work culture that makes exceptional achievement a standard for performance, and the speed of implementation and quality of outputs bear witness to the excellence of the Dubai experience. His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer said: “The (Dubai Actions) initiative documents the unique philosophy of the wise leadership, may God protect it, in transforming ambitions into exceptional achievements on the ground, a philosophy that has made Dubai a global model in transforming challenges into opportunities, and ideas into pioneering projects that have created a sustainable development, economic and social impact,” referring to the statement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, when he inaugurated the 2020 route of the Dubai Metro in July of the year. 2020: “We say what we do… and we do what we say,” which was an inspiring message for everyone, individuals, government and private institutions, to continue working in the spirit of the Dubai team, which believes that nothing is impossible in the Dubai dictionary.
His Excellency added: “At the Roads and Transport Authority, we derive, from the vision of the wise leadership, an institutional approach based on transforming great ambitions into tangible achievements that create a positive and sustainable impact on the life of society. This philosophy was embodied in a series of strategic projects that redrawn the features of the transportation and infrastructure system in the emirate, starting with the Dubai Metro project with its red and green lines, through to the completion of the Route 2020 project on time despite the exceptional challenges imposed by the Corona pandemic, all the way to implementing… The Blue Line of the Dubai Metro, which represents a new station in the process of developing the mass transit network, as well as the announcement, in the exceptional circumstances witnessed by the region, of the Golden Line of the Dubai Metro.”
He pointed out that the “Dubai Actions” philosophy also included the implementation of qualitative projects that constituted milestones in the emirate’s development process, such as the Dubai Water Canal, which linked Dubai Creek with the Arabian Gulf, the Infinity Bridge, and the advanced network of roads and bridges, which contributed to enhancing connectivity between various vital areas and raising the efficiency of transportation in accordance with the highest international standards.
His Excellency stressed that what distinguishes Dubai is its ability to continue launching major projects in parallel with anticipating the future, as it began operating self-driving taxis at the beginning of this year, and is preparing to launch commercial air taxi operations at the end of this year, in addition to moving forward with the Dubai Loop project, pointing out that these projects and initiatives confirm that the future is made through action, work and innovation, which has made Dubai a leading model to be emulated in anticipating and creating the future.
