In the presence of Abdullah bin Zayed / the Emirates is hosting "Youth dialogue" On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York

New York, September 25 / WAM / The UAE hosted the “Youth Dialogue” event on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The “Youth Dialogue”, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the headquarters of the UAE permanent mission to the United Nations in New York, gathered a number of young leaders from all over the world.
40 young men and women participated in the event, including students, in addition to Emirati youth residing in the United States.
The participants held wide discussions that included the most prominent challenges facing their societies. Dialogue also dealt with issues related to climate work, environmental justice, peace, conflicts preventing and fair access to education and skills development, and highlighted the necessity of bridging digital gaps and enhancing opportunities in a world witnessing increasing interdependence.
The “Youth Dialogue” comes from the UAE’s keenness to enhance comprehensive participation that confirms the role of youth and supporting the non -represented voices, in addition to supporting multilateral action.
The event is an extension of the success achieved by the first version of the “Youth Dialogue”, which was held in Brazil during the “Brex” summit in July 2025.
The current version contributes to enhancing the position of the UAE as a leading country in supporting comprehensive diplomacy between generations, as well as the country’s firm belief in the importance of youth dialogues and initiatives to enhance cooperation.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed the participants in the “Youth Dialogue”, stressing the UAE’s commitment to support the platforms that prioritize the voices of youth.
His Highness stressed that the youth are not only the leaders of the future, but also the leaders of the present, noting that the youth show a remarkable courage and creativity and a clear vision in their confrontation with the most urgent challenges in our time, from climate work to digital justice, and from building peace to education, and their voices are an irreplaceable necessity when formulating effective and purposeful global solutions.
Within the event, a dialogue session hosted His Excellency Reem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al -Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and His Excellency Imran Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Advanced Science and Technology Affairs, and managed by Afra Mahsh Al -Hamli, Director of Strategic Communication Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
His Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi stressed that young people play a leading role in various fields, such as climate work, peacebuilding, digital innovation and social development, and despite their active contributions, their representation in global decision -making operations is still limited.
She added: “The UAE believes that international cooperation should reflect the reality experienced by young people, especially in the areas most affected by the current challenges, and this dialogue embodies our commitment to adopting a diplomatic approach based on listening, learning and development along with the next generation of leaders.”
The dialogue aims to highlight the local views and translate them into applicable visions that contribute to the formulation of global policies.
The UAE also intends to integrate these youth voices in the next multi -party forums, which confirms its vision that inclusiveness is not just a moral duty, but rather a strategic necessity for effective diplomacy.
The discussions highlighted the importance of enabling young people to play a pivotal role in the process of international decision -making, and the role of the UAE as a major center linking generations, regions and various sectors.
The speakers emphasized that inclusiveness should go beyond being a value directed to become a strategic necessity that guarantees legitimacy and effectiveness in multilateral work systems.
The dialogue also stressed the importance of overcoming traditional consultation models, and enhancing the involvement of young people as active partners in formulating global solutions.
The “Youth Dialogues” series is part of the comprehensive diplomatic strategy of the UAE, aimed at deepening ties between different regions, consolidating mutual understanding, and enhancing youth involvement in the global governance system.
The UAE renews its commitment to supporting youth leadership and comprehensive dialogue as they are two basic pillars of a multilateral, inclusive and flexible system.
