The UAE participates in the meeting of the Gulf Railways Council in Riyadh

Riyadh, September 26/ WAM/ The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, participated in the eighth meeting of the Council of the Gulf Railways Authority, which was held yesterday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States in Riyadh.
The state represented at the meeting His Excellency Sheikh Nasser Al Qasimi, the assistant undersecretary for the infrastructure organizing sector in the ministry, who stressed during his participation the UAE’s keenness to continue supporting the joint Gulf efforts to accelerate the pace of the completion of the Gulf Cooperation Council railway project, as it is one of the strategic projects that enhance economic integration, support social bonding, and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
His Excellency said that the UAE, under the guidance of its wise leadership, is continuing to support the Gulf Cooperation Council railway project, based on its deep belief in the importance of this project in strengthening the transportation system, supporting inter -trade, and opening broader horizons for economic integration between the GCC countries.
The meeting – chaired by His Excellency Eng. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al Sultan, Chairman of the Gulf Railways Authority – discussed a number of major issues, which included the General Agreement to link the GCC states with the project, the report of the external references for the previous financial years, and reviewed the developments of relevant studies and projects, and the plans of future participation in exhibitions and conferences specialized in the transport and railway sector.
