The Petroleum Trading Committee in Abu Dhabi holds its third meeting of 2025

Abu Dhabi, September 30 / WAM / The Petroleum Trading Committee held its third meeting of 2025, headed by His Excellency Dr. Saif Saeed Al Qubaisi, Chairman of the Committee, and the presence of His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Al -Shaibani, Acting Director General of Organizational Affairs in the Energy Department, and the participation of representatives from the federal and local authorities.

The meeting agenda included discussion of a list of topics and the presentation of a number of offers related to the efforts made by various bodies to regulate the circulation of petroleum products in the emirate, and it was agreed to implement and follow up a set of recommendations and results, in line with the legislation issued regarding the regulation of petroleum materials, represented by Federal Law No. (14) of 2017, and its executive regulations issued according to Cabinet Resolution No. (35) of 2019, in addition to To Law No. (5) of 2023 regarding the organization of these activities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

During its meeting, the committee reviewed the development of the petroleum materials market in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the main sectors consumed by it, in addition to the decline in the gray market activity after the application of organizational decisions, and directed to activate the mechanisms of violations and follow up the commitment of companies supplied to the requirements, stressing all authorities to comply with the requirements for the circulation of petroleum materials and extract the necessary permits to avoid criminal procedures.

The committee’s discussions touched on the option of composite cylinders as an alternative to metal cylinders, by providing them in selected stations and increasing automatic sales devices or through the delivery service, as well as implementing awareness campaigns for consumers.

The committee recommended studying investment opportunities in the event of adopting the transition to the use of complex cylinders instead of iron cylinders, which contributes to raising safety standards in society and supporting the national industry contributing to the local product of the emirate.

The Committee also discussed the antiquities caused by the storage of gas cylinders in overcrowded housing, and reviewed the experimental plan in Mohammed bin Zayed City, the results of field surveys and solutions to low -income people, while emphasizing the importance of awareness and follow -up.

On the side of the digital transformation, the committee discussed the “ISIS” project to develop the governance of the transfer of petroleum materials using artificial intelligence, by monitoring drivers and tracking shipments and issuing permits to mobilize buildings with gas and ensuring safety commitment, where work is underway to complete the development and linking phase with partners in preparation for the launch at the end of September 2025 in a way that contributes to supporting compliance in the safe circulation of petroleum materials and enhances safety and protection Property and souls.

The committee reviewed the proposal to develop the system of issuing permits for the circulation of petroleum products through the unified platform, which contributes to improving the experience of digital transformation and is in line with the digital strategy of the emirate, the results of inspection campaigns on workers’ housing and facilities, where cases were monitored in operating unlicensed gas systems and safety -related challenges.

The committee recommended that the operators be obligated to raise awareness, training and linking gas systems with warning and obtaining the necessary approvals before operation, while emphasizing the raising of compliance with security and safety requirements and obtaining fulfillment certificates from the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority.
