"Union trains" It complements the project to operate the Al -Ghuwaybat Solar Shipping Station at the end of 2025
Abu Dhabi, September 30 / WAM / The Virgin Al -Mansouri, Director of the General Policy and Sustainability Department at Al -Ittihad trains, confirmed that the project to supply the Guevate Station for Renewable Solar Energy will be completed by the end of the current year 2025 to be the first solar -backed project within the Federation trains system, provided that the supply of the rest of the stations is completed with clean energy during the next stage.
Al -Mansouri said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of the launch of the second edition of the exhibition and the International Conference on Railways, Transport and Infrastructure “Global Rail 2025”, whose activities began today in Abu Dhabi that trains are one of the most sustainable means of transport compared to other means of transportation in line with the UAE vision in the field of climate neutrality and adopting the best practices related to sustainability.
She added that estimates indicate that the “Union trains” will contribute by 2050 to reducing emissions from the land transport sector by up to 21%, equivalent to about 8.2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
She pointed out that the company started since last year to issue certificates for its customers proving the size of the decrease in carbon emissions resulting from the use of transportation services through trains instead of traditional means, explaining that some customers were able to reduce their emissions by up to 70%.
