Mansour bin Mohammed witnesses part of the Adriatic Basketball League final match

DUBAI, 6 JUNE / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, witnessed part of the final of the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA League) for the 2025-2026 season, in the match that brought together Dubai Basketball Club and Partizan Belgrade Club in the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai today (Saturday).

The match was also attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Endowments Foundation and Management of Minors’ Funds in Dubai, Majid Al Osaimi, Chairman of the Asian Paralympic Committee and Executive Director of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, Sayed Ismail Sayed Al Hashemi, Member of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Sports Council, and Abdullah Al Naboodah, Owner of the Dubai Basketball Club.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum confirmed that the Dubai Basketball Club succeeded, despite its recent participation in the Adriatic League, in establishing its presence among the elite competing clubs, and providing distinguished technical levels that reflected Dubai’s ambition and its ability to create successful sports models capable of competing in the strongest international tournaments. His Highness added that this achievement embodies Dubai’s vision of sustainable sports investment and adopting the latest global practices in developing the sports system, which contributes to enhancing the emirate’s presence on the international sports scene.

His Highness said: “Dubai’s hosting of this high level of international sports competitions, and the attendance of the most prominent teams, stars and fans from around the world, confirms its growing position as a leading global center for sports and major events. This tournament also reflects Dubai’s advanced infrastructure, world-class sports facilities and exceptional organizational capabilities, which allow it to attract the largest international sporting events and present them according to the highest international standards.”

His Highness added: “The growing interest in the tournament, the large public turnout, and the high levels of competition witnessed in its competitions are all indicators that confirm Dubai’s success in building an integrated sports environment that combines organizational excellence, investment attractiveness, and sports competition, thus enhancing its position as a global destination for the sports industry and hosting its most prominent tournaments.”

The match ended with the Dubai team defeating the Partizan team with a score of 86-81, and the Dubai basketball team continues to write history in its second season in the tournament. This was the second confrontation between the two teams after achieving victory in the first confrontation over the Partizan club with a score of 99-93 in the Coca-Cola Arena. The final round competitions are held in a best-of-5 match system.

The final round series will move outside Dubai, with the third confrontation being held in Belgrade on June 10, and the fourth on June 12 (if necessary), with the series returning to Dubai on June 16 to hold the decisive fifth match in the event that the two teams tie.
