Kuwaiti investors have acquired shares worth 6.466 billion dinars on the stock exchange since January

Kuwait, June 6 / WAM / An economic report said that Kuwaiti investors bought shares on the Kuwait Stock Exchange in the period from January 1, 2026 until May 31, at a value of 6.466 billion dinars (about 19.8 billion dollars), thus acquiring 82.6 percent of the total value of the shares purchased compared to 84.3 percent for the same period in 2025.

A report by Al-Shall Consulting Company, based on recent figures issued by the Kuwait Clearing Company and broadcast by the Kuwait News Agency, showed that Kuwaiti investors sold shares during that period worth 6.293 billion dinars (about 19.3 billion dollars), thus accounting for 80.3 percent of the total value of shares sold, compared to 87.3 percent for the same period in 2025, bringing their net most purchased trading to about 173.71 million dinars (about 531.3 million dollars).

He explained that the share of other investors in the total value of shares sold amounted to about 1.396 billion dinars (about 4.2 billion dollars), or 17.8 percent of the total value of shares sold, compared to 11.1 percent for the same period in 2025.

He added that the value of the other investors’ shares purchased amounted to about 1.256 billion dinars (about 3.8 billion dollars), or 16 percent, compared to 14.1 percent for the same period in 2025, bringing their net most selling transactions to about 139.9 million dinars (about 429.4 million dollars).

He pointed out that the share of investors from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the total value of shares sold amounted to about 1.8 percent, compared to 1.6 percent for the same period in 2025, amounting to 142.7 million dinars (about 438 million dollars).
