Sharjah, September 30 / WAM / The Youth Council at the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority organized “Shorouk” in the authority’s House of Wisdom in cooperation with the World Council for UAE Youth in Japan, the “International Translation Day” event, which falls on September 30 of each year.
The event included a dialogue session that discussed the role of art in cultural exchange and its importance in communicating between different peoples, as well as creative workshops that merged between digital and traditional arts with the participation of a group of creative youth.
The dialogue session brought together Ahmed Besth, a creative director, a digital artist, Ahmed bin Al -Sheikh, the spokesman, who mastered seven international languages and Ali Al -Kaabi from “Studio Kanaz” specializing in artworks inspired by Emirati culture and Majid Al -Hassani, member of the “Shorouk” youth council.
The session, which was moderated by Maryam Al -Naqbi, Chairman of the World Council for UAE Youth in Japan and a doctoral student at the Tokyo Institute of Science, discussed several topics and axes on the use of art as a tool to deliver messages and cultural exchange beyond the limits of language in addition to reviewing the experiences of speakers in cultural and social communication with delegations and global visits and the role of youth in promoting dialogue and cultural exchange.
The session was followed by two workshops. The first was presented by Ahmed Best, who reviewed a number of his digital and creative works that integrate reality with imagination using artificial intelligence and other digital applications, as well as integrating cultural elements into his works in a consistent manner.
As for the second workshop, it was presented by “Kanaz Studio”, which is an artistic studio and a mobile national project that provides artistic and educational programs and workshops in traditional crafts and contemporary arts. It aims to enhance national identity and teach visual arts of all kinds and technologies. The workshop included the merging of the participants in the digital artwork workshop, where the participants added from the attendees to their touches in a artistic style that combines traditional and digital methods And they made their special fabric bags.
