His Highness Sheikh Dhiab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Presidency Bureau for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, Chairman of the Federation Track Company, witnessed the signing of an agreement between the trains of the developed union and the operator of the National Railways Network in the UAE, the customs of Abu Dhabi, the Customs of Fujairah, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, the Fujairah Ports, and the Nawatom Company for logistical services, to launch the customs corridor project The safe for the Federation train between the port of Khalifa in Abu Dhabi and the Fujairah Ports.

This came during the activities of the second edition of the International Exhibition and Conference on Railways, Transport and Infrastructure (Global Rail 2025), in a strategic move aimed at enhancing the safety and integration of rail transport operations throughout the UAE.

On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Dhiab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the partnership and the project, which embodies a pivotal step towards enhancing the infrastructure of the transportation, logistical services and commercial operations sector in the UAE.

His Highness stressed that the customs corridor project will enhance the established position of the UAE in facilitating the movement of trade and investment growth in the region through the services provided by the national rail network, while raising the efficiency of commercial operations and safety levels, in line with the importance of the national network in achieving economic growth and climate neutrality by the year 2050.

The project aims to enhance the flow of the movement of goods in a safe, effective and sustainable manner by providing a safe corridor that connects the port of Khalifa, Fujairah Ports and neighboring free zones via the national rail network and providing high -level logistical services from the starting station to the arrival station.

The safe corridor will provide multiple advantages for users of the UAE national rail network, including the flow of goods between the port of Khalifa, Fujairah ports and adjacent free zones, reducing customs clearance time and facilitating entry and exit from ports by coordinating early inquiry procedures, in addition to completing customs procedures in the two sites.

The safe passage also provides a competitive advantage for the goods transferred on the Federation trains through a priority in clearance within customs systems. The corridor will be applied to imports to free zones, transit shipments, exports, and local transportation between the Emirate of Fujairah and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The experimental safe passage services will begin in the last quarter of 2025, while working to legalize cooperation between the relevant authorities and dealers to activate the services and benefits provided to the union train clients, as well as monitoring performance indicators to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and quality.

In the context of future directions, all partners in this project are looking to develop the safe customs corridors of the railway and expand their scope to include other train stations, and work to devise competitive advantages and new services backed by the latest technologies, in order to keep pace with the UAE’s ambitions in applying leading customs measures, enhancing safety and security in the transportation system and bandits, and supporting the national sustainability agenda. The partners also aspire to provide a safe customs corridor for the railway with global standards, which supports international corridors and enhances the role of the UAE as a major axis of trade and logistical services at the regional and global levels.
