Former President of Finland: The UAE offers a leading model in building a green economy that establishes future gains

Dubai on October 1 / WAM / His Excellency Solly Neneto, President of the Republic of Finland, confirmed that the UAE provides a leading model in building a green economy, in a trend that does not only look at the gains today, but to the future, to form a model to follow the rest of the world.
He said in his speech to the Emirates News Agency “WAM” on the sidelines of his participation in the global summit of the green economy, that the UAE is doing a great job, and adopts new sources of renewable energy and a green economy, despite its possession of huge reserves of fossil fuels.
He stressed that the global summit of the green economy, which started today in Dubai, constitutes a very important platform for dialogue and exchange of visions on the common challenges imposed by climate change, stressing that this type of forum allows the international community to build confidence and work together to find practical solutions to this global issue.
“It is extremely important to talk to each other with confidence about what to do, the problem is common, and it is natural that we try to address it together, and this platform provides a valuable opportunity to find the common path,” he said.
With regard to bilateral relations between the UAE and Finland in the field of green economy, His Excellency explained that cooperation between the two countries is based on the efforts of scientists and specialists in the fields of technology, in addition to the growing official relations between the two sides.
He added, “Despite the different circumstances and the place of living between our two countries, we are facing the same problem, which is climate change, and we must work together to confront it.”
On the role of Finland and what you can provide to the world in the field of education and technology to support the green economy, Nenesto said that scientists and engineers are very excited to exchange experiences, stressing that cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experience is the best way to enhance global efforts to confront climate change.
