The first month of pregnancy .. basic steps to reduce the risk of miscarriage

The first month of pregnancy is the most sensitive stage in the maternity journey, where the fetus is in the process of training and is more likely to be affected by internal and external factors. Medical estimates indicate that about 15% of known pregnancy cases end in automatic miscarriage during the first third.

According to Dr. Wafaa Al -Alayli, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the risks can be reduced through five basic axes:
Proper nutrition: reliance on fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, healthy protein, and pasteurized dairy products, while avoiding raw foods. Recent studies have shown that a lot of fruits reduces the risk of losing pregnancy by up to 61%.
Dietary supplements: the most important of which are folic acid (400 micrograms per day), iron, calcium, vitamin D, and multiple vitamins under the supervision of a doctor.
Lifestyle: avoiding smoking and excessive caffeine, getting enough sleep, and practicing light physical activity such as walking.
Maintaining a healthy weight: obesity or severe thinness increases the risk of miscarriage and complications of pregnancy, with the need to control chronic diseases such as diabetes and thyroid disorders.
Early medical follow -up: Visiting the doctor from the early days to ensure the pregnancy is fixed, perform the necessary checks, and to develop an appropriate nutritional and treatment plan.

Follow these recommendations from the first moment helps to stabilize pregnancy and gives the mother peace of mind during her new journey.
