11 stations recorded amounts higher than the average
The report explained that the average rainfall throughout the Kingdom during this period reached 20.3 mm, compared to the normal rate of 7.8 mm, Recording an increase of 12.5 mm above the normal rate. He indicated that the distribution of precipitation amounts at the level of inhabited stations showed that 11 stations recorded amounts higher than the average, and 11 stations recorded amounts within the normal range (±5 mm), while 4 stations recorded amounts less than the average, which reflects a disparity in the distribution of rainfall between the regions of the Kingdom.
Abha, highest amount of rainfall
The report indicated that the highest increase over the average was recorded at the Abha station by (+139 mm), while the highest decrease from the average was recorded in the Taif station by (+139 mm). (-12.1 mm). Abha station recorded the highest amount of precipitation, amounting to 163 mm, the second highest amount of precipitation historically at this station, followed by Khamis Mushayt station, with an amount of 59.3 mm.
Follow-up periodic reports
With regard to automatic monitoring stations, the center explained that Khamis Mushait station recorded the highest amount of precipitation, amounting to 72.8 mm, while Al-Soudah station in Abha recorded an amount of 40.6 mm, which indicates a noticeable spatial variation in Rainfall amounts within one city. The National Center of Meteorology confirmed that this data contributes to supporting the climate monitoring system and enhancing the accuracy of analyses, enabling relevant authorities to benefit from it in planning and taking the necessary measures, calling for following up on its periodic reports through its official channels.
