Emirati-Asian cooperation to develop the system of match observers in football competitions

Dubai, April 21 / WAM / Yesterday evening, the UAE Football Association organized a match observers’ forum at its headquarters in Dubai, in cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation, and with the participation of observers accredited by the federation, with the aim of enhancing expertise in a way that contributes to the development of organizational work in local football competitions.
The forum’s panellist was presented by Brian C. Mee Chiat, Head of the Missions and Appointments Management Department at the Asian Football Confederation, where he addressed the various organizational aspects related to managing game operations, and reviewed the responsibilities of the match observer before, during and after the match, in addition to the mechanisms for dealing with different scenarios during matches, and the importance of applying the highest standards of security and safety for players, referees and fans.
The forum’s topics included a comprehensive explanation of the observer’s duties, in addition to a review of the best practices adopted in organizing and managing Asian competitions, which contributes to enhancing the efficiency of organizational work and raising the level of football competitions.
The AFC minutes also highlighted the most important requirements and standards that must be met by match observers, in line with the approved Asian competition regulations.
The organization of this forum is part of the efforts of the UAE Football Association aimed at developing the work system in local football competitions, by qualifying national cadres and enhancing their expertise and readiness, in keeping with the best continental and international practices, and supporting the success of UAE football competitions.
