8% increase in the numbers of children enrolled in early childhood centers in Dubai

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai revealed an increase in the numbers of children in early childhood centers in the emirate, which has achieved growth in the numbers of children enrolled in the third year in a row, with an increase of 8% in the period from June 2024 to June 2025,

Dubai witnessed the opening of 38 new centers, according to recent data issued by the authority, which indicated that the number of early childhood centers increased to 312 centers that provide education and care services for children from birth to six years, and receive more than 29,600 children, including 2,400 Emirati children.

The new centers included the opening of the “Al -Freij” nursery, as a pioneering educational model in partnership between the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Work and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, targeting the provision of education and care opportunities for Emirati children in various neighborhoods of Dubai, and instilling Islamic values ​​and consolidating Emirati heritage in the hearts of young learners.

The accelerated growth in the number of new centers during the current year compared to the past year reflects the continuous attractiveness of the early childhood sector in Dubai, and its flexibility through its ability to expand its capacity to meet the needs of families, as some centers have expanded the age groups that receive them to include younger children.

“The continuous growth in the numbers of children enrolled in early childhood centers, and the increase in the number of centers, shows the flexibility of this sector and its ability to adapt, after the capacity reached its peak in the academic year 2023-2024, ensuring the availability of more varied options that meet the needs of families.”

Al -Mazmi emphasized that the quality of education in early childhood plays a vital role in preparing children for school and life, and the continuous growth in this sector reflects the confidence that parents put in early childhood centers in the emirate, and the increasing awareness of the importance of these years in forming the personality of children, enriching their educational journey and enhancing the quality of their lives.

Unique diversity

The report highlights the unique diversity of the early childhood sector in Dubai, where registered children belong to 163 different nationalities, and Indian, British and Emirati children also form the largest groups in terms of students.

Parents can choose from 17 different educational curricula and program, and is the curriculum of the constituent stage for early childhood (EYFS) in the early childhood sector in Dubai.

Half of early childhood centers in Dubai embrace children of more than 20 different nationalities, and more than 2,500 teachers and 2,600 teacher assistance works in this sector.
