"Dua" and"Dubai taxi" Expect a contract to create 208 high -speed charging points for electric vehicles

Dubai, October 2 / WAM / The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority “Dua” and the “Dubai Taxi” company signed a long -term strategic contract to install 208 high -speed charging points for electric cars in multiple locations belonging to the Dubai Taxi Company, with the aim of supporting the company’s strategy to fully transform its fleet into electric vehicles by 2040.

The contract was signed during the activities of the twenty -seventh session of the Water, Energy and Environment Technology Exhibition “Witix” in the presence of His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer, Managing Director, CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, where he was signed by Eng. Walid bin Salman, CEO of the President for the Business Development and Excellence Sector in the Authority, and Mansour Mansour Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of “Dubai Taxi”, within the framework of the “Green Charger” initiative for the electric vehicles of the authority.

These stations will contribute to reducing 37,939 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, and with the calculation of the current shipping units at Dubai Taxi, emission savings will rise to 49,654 metric tons annually, which represents a prominent contribution to supporting the Emirates Climate Neutral strategy 2050.

The first phase of the project includes the installation of the new generation charging stations with a capacity of 360 kilowatts each, to form the basic substrate for a highly efficient network dedicated to serving the fleet of electric taxi vehicles of the Dubai Taxi Company, which is expected to exceed 2,500 electric vehicles by 2030, to 100% full transformation by 2040.
The contract includes in its first phase the launch of two main center for freight points, the Dubai Taxi Garage near Dubai International Airport, and the company’s main headquarters in the Mohsna 4 area.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayer said: We continue our efforts to enhance Dubai’s position as a leading global city in adopting clean energy solutions and sustainable transportation, through the “Green Charger for Electric Vehicles” initiative, which today provides more than 1,500 charging points throughout the emirate, including the freight points provided by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority in cooperation with our partners from the government and private sectors.

Abdel Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbet, Chairman of the Dubai Taxi Company, stressed that the company is leading the process of shift towards sustainable movement, by having a market share of 45% of the taxi sector in Dubai, targeting the transformation of its entire fleet of taxis and lympozine into electric vehicles by 2040, and this transformation is one of the main pillars of the sustainability strategy in the company, which makes it a model for clean transportation And smart and ready for the future.
