المملكة: Urgent: Roads Authority: Review and correct the linguistic vocabulary on highway signs
The General Authority for Roads that its effective partnership with the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language has resulted in tangible achievements, the most notable of which was the issuance of a dictionary of road terms; Which is considered a comprehensive linguistic reference for all vocabulary used in the road sector.
This partnership comes within the Authority’s tireless efforts to enhance the communication process and standardize vocabulary, thus contributing to strengthening cultural identity in the road sector.
She indicated "Roads Authority" The dictionary of road terms contains more than (385) words. Which makes it an essential tool for standardizing terminology and improving content.
Reviewing highway signs
The authority indicated that it will work during the coming period to review the linguistic vocabulary on signs Highways, and discussed launching a specific initiative with the complex aimed at reviewing and correcting the linguistic vocabulary used on highway signs in the Kingdom.
The authority confirmed the continuation of fruitful cooperation with its partners, including the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, with the aim of developing the road sector.
This comes in line with the objectives of the sector program aimed at reducing deaths on the roads to less than (5) cases per (100) thousand people, and reaching sixth place globally in the road quality index by 2030.
