Cairo Film Festival announces the selected projects for its eleventh forum

The Cairo Film Forum announced the official list of cinematic projects selected to participate in its eleventh session, which will be held within the activities of the Cairo International Film Festival in its forty-sixth session, during the period from 17 to 20 November 2025.
This session comes to continue the forum’s mission as an artistic and cultural platform that seeks to support and empower Arab filmmakers, and provide an interactive environment that combines… Creators, producers and financiers, on a journey that begins from the first idea to being shown on the big screen.
This year’s list includes 15 cinematic projects from ten Arab countries, representing the various stages of the industry from development to post-production, in an image that expresses the diversity of creative voices and visions in the region.
It has Egypt took the lead with four distinct projects, followed by Lebanon with three projects, while Iraq participated with two projects, and Palestine with two other projects, in addition to one project each for Tunisia, Jordan, Sudan, Algeria, and Yemen.
Within the framework of international partnerships, the film “Alicante” also participates Directed by Lina Soualem, it is a joint production between Algeria and France, as part of the cooperation between the Cairo Film Forum and Amman Filmmakers Days, in a step that emphasizes the regional and global interaction that characterizes the forum.

A broad artistic vision and creative geography
In a statement, Rodrigo Brom, director of the Cairo Film Forum, said:
"The selection of the projects for this session came as a result of a collective effort and an artistic vision that extended over months of work. And evaluation. What brings us pride is that each project is not limited to the director’s vision only, but rather carries within it the stories of entire communities and voices searching for a space for expression and freedom.”
Broom added that this year’s forum was keen for the list to be a true mirror of the region’s creative pulse, stressing his confidence that the meetings that will bring together the participants during the forum It will open new horizons for cooperation and joint production inside and outside Cairo.
A platform that redefines the role of festivals in supporting cinema
The Cairo Film Forum is one of the most prominent events supporting the Arab and African film industry, as it provides technical, financial and advisory support to filmmakers. Independent films, in addition to providing opportunities for direct communication with international production institutions and distribution companies.
The forum, in its eleventh session, continues to consolidate its role as a major driver for the discovery of new cinematic voices capable of representing the reality of the Arab region honestly and innovatively.
