Abu Dhabi Housing launches the “Expression of Interest” service to enable citizens to choose the appropriate residential project

With the aim of enhancing social stability and achieving family rapprochement among citizens, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority launched “Expression of Interest”, which is a fully digital service that enables eligible citizens to review all current and future housing projects, and express interest in the project most suitable for the beneficiary based on several factors, including the geographical location of the project, date of completion, area of the housing unit, and others.

Based on this new service, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has listed all current and future residential projects available in its housing portfolio on the Abu Dhabi Housing application to be available to eligible citizens to benefit from this service, so that citizens who are invited via SMS and notifications through the application can review the projects in which they can express interest, each according to their financial solvency, and citizens will be given a sufficient period of time to review them. These projects, comparing them, and coordinating with their families and relatives, before opening the way for them to express their interest in the project that is appropriate for them.

Director General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, said: This service was launched, in response to the directives of the wise leadership to enhance family stability and achieve social rapprochement, as it was designed to fully develop the mechanism of allocating government housing and provide the citizen with a new experience that gives him complete freedom in choosing the geographical location in which he prefers to live, in addition to choosing the residential unit he prefers within the project.

He added, “The Authority will display about 28,000 housing units in 15 residential projects under development in various parts of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to the beneficiaries, with the aim of expressing their interest in the project suitable for them in the first stage, provided that they will have the opportunity to choose the housing and reserve it on the map when the details of the project they have chosen are ready. The Authority or the real estate developer will invite citizens who have expressed interest in the project to view its designs and choose the housing.” It is appropriate to reserve it (on the map) and complete all allocation procedures before the project is completed, so that citizens can know the condition of their housing and the date of its completion and plan for their future based on their prior choices.

Al Muhairi added, in the first phase, the service targets citizens who have requests for home purchase loans or deferred home purchase loans, where they can view government housing projects and housing projects that are developed in partnership with the private sector, and those who are eligible to obtain the housing grant service who can review all government projects only. He added that the Authority will provide citizens who apply for residential land grants, as well as citizens who own residential lands in which the infrastructure is not available and who have applications for housing construction loans under process, the opportunity to change their service to a loan to purchase a ready-made home or a housing grant service, according to the benefit due and to enable them to express their interest in the projects offered if they so desire.

Al Muhairi explained that the Authority worked to qualify citizens who have effective housing applications, based on the seniority of the applications and the social and residential status, including the number of family members and the residential status of the beneficiary, indicating that there are future projects that will be presented later and more citizens will be qualified according to their eligibility for service.

Al Muhairi pointed out that the second phase of this service may allow citizens who have received residential land grants, have issued construction loan approvals and have not begun construction work to change the service to a loan to purchase a ready-made home, but this is subject to the completion of current housing applications.

Al Muhairi stressed the need to be careful in choosing, and to coordinate in advance with qualified relatives to choose the appropriate project with the aim of choosing adjacent housing in the same project, noting that the Authority will give sufficient time for citizens to review the available projects before providing the opportunity to express interest through the Abu Dhabi Housing application, as the door to express interest will be opened for beneficiaries in the Al Ain region first and then in the city of Abu Dhabi and the Al Dhafra region at a later time.

This project is in line with the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority’s strategy for digital transformation, governance, and enhancing transparency at all stages of the customer’s journey, from entitlement to receipt of housing, and reflects the Authority’s tireless efforts to facilitate procedures, simplify services, and enhance partnership with the private sector to provide more options and shorten the waiting period to obtain housing.
