Mohammed bin Rashid’s words made me happy and inspired me to continue memorizing the Qur’an

The child citizen, Abdul Rahman Ahmed Rashid Abdullah Al Hammadi, expressed his great happiness with the post of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, which His Highness attached to a video clip of him reciting the Holy Qur’an, praising his beautiful voice.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the recitation of the verses of the Holy Qur’an by the Emirati child Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, which His Highness described as guidance, mercy and light that preserves generations, expressing his happiness with his beautiful voice.

His Highness said in a blog post on the “X” platform: “God’s words are light, guidance, and mercy. God’s words are protection, a fence, and a preservation for generations. May God protect them and take care of them. My son Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi made me happy with his beautiful voice.”

Abdul Rahman, 12 years old, who studies in the seventh grade at Al Ghazali School in Abu Dhabi, told Emirates Today: “My happiness is indescribable, and I did not expect His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to watch the video, and when I saw his words about me, I felt very proud and grateful. It is a moment that I will remember throughout my life.”

He added that he posted the video on his personal account and did not imagine that it would reach this extent of spread, noting that he memorizes three parts of the Holy Qur’an and continues to memorize it daily with the help of his father, saying: “I love listening to the Qur’an because I learn from its stories, and I hope to become an imam at Sheikh Zayed Mosque in the future.”

Abdul Rahman explained that he enjoys listening to the recitations of a number of reciters, most notably Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi and Sheikh Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, noting that one of the verses he loves most is the Almighty’s saying: “A spring in it is called Salsabila” from Surah Al-Insan, because it describes Paradise and makes his heart at peace.”

He sent a message to the children, saying: “I advise every child to read and memorize the Qur’an, because it helps us focus and study in school, and gives us comfort and happiness.”

For his part, the child’s father, Ahmed Rashid Al Hammadi, expressed his great pride in His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s tweet, saying: “We were all surprised at home, and Friday was different in every detail. Our house was filled with joy and pride, and we felt that His Highness’s words were a precious medal on the chest of Abdul Rahman and the entire family.”

He explained that he discovered his son’s talent about three years ago, when he heard him singing at home. He noticed the beauty of his voice and asked him to recite the Qur’an, adding: “From that moment I began to encourage him and sit with him constantly to listen to the great reciters and imitate them. He would spend long hours perfecting the recitation of one verse until he felt satisfied with it.”

He pointed out that Abdul Rahman does not own a phone or any electronic device, as his father is keen to keep him away from technology as much as possible, so that he can focus on his studies and memorizing the Qur’an.

He mentioned that his son participated in a number of Qur’anic competitions, and won first place in the Al-Tabir Award for the Holy Qur’an and its Sciences at the state level, in the category of “The Most Beautiful Recitation for Citizens – Children,” and he also won several school awards.

He stressed that the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, constitute a great responsibility and a double motivation to continue supporting his son and developing his talent, saying: “What His Highness said is a source of pride that will last in my son’s memory, and motivates him to serve his country through the Qur’an. These words are not only praise, but great guidance and support for every guardian to discover and hone his children’s talent.”

He sent a message to parents, saying: “I advise all parents to pay attention to teaching the Qur’an to their children, because the Qur’an instills values in them and preserves them. I also invite them to discover their children’s talents and encourage them to serve our country and give back to it.”
