The Spanish Ambassador to the country holds a reception on the occasion of his country’s National Day
Abu Dhabi, 11 October / WAM / His Excellency Emilio Ben Godoy, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the country, held a reception on the occasion of his country’s National Day, attended by Omar Rashid Al Neyadi, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a number of officials and members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps accredited to the country, members of the Spanish community residing in the country, and Spanish businessmen.
In his speech during the ceremony held at the Emirates Palace Hotel, the Spanish Ambassador praised the strong relations between his country and the UAE, and the wise policy of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him.”
He said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1972, bilateral relations between his country and the UAE have witnessed significant growth and development in recent years, and the UAE has maintained its position as a major and important trading partner for the Kingdom of Spain in the Arabian Gulf region, stressing Spain’s keenness to strengthen investment and economic relations with the UAE.
The ceremony included honoring some of the “Friends of Spain” partners: Masdar City, Etihad Airways, and the Cultural Center affiliated with the Ministry of Culture in Ras Al Khaimah.
