US stocks close lower

New York, April 22 / WAM / US stocks closed lower as the gains they achieved at the beginning of the session dissipated.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell by 45.09 points, or 0.63%, to reach the level of 7,064.05 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index lost by 0.59%, equivalent to 144.08 points, to close at the level of 24,260.31 points.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 292.59 points, or 0.59%, to end its trading at 49,148.64 points.
