The campaign aims to raise the level of awareness of breast cancer and encourage women to undergo early screening, as it is one of the most important factors in prevention and treatment, in addition to promoting public health and spreading a culture of interest in women’s health among members of society.
The campaign activities were launched with the “Pink Health” race, which witnessed the participation of more than 2,000 male and female contestants from different age groups, in an interactive community atmosphere that emphasizes the importance of solidarity in supporting women’s issues and public health.
The activities included the opening of the “Pink Community Village,” which included a variety of awareness activities and programs extending over three days, and focused on raising the level of awareness of breast cancer and encouraging early detection as an effective tool for prevention and treatment.
The campaign witnessed the provision of a mammogram truck service to facilitate early detection for women, in addition to a blood donation truck to support health initiatives and promote a culture of community giving.
The campaign will include several specialized awareness sessions, including a dialogue session with health experts, a session on healthy nutrition, a session on mental health, in addition to a session dedicated to breast cancer survivors, and an awareness session on the role of clinical trials in treating the disease.
SEHA confirmed that this campaign represents part of its commitment to its societal responsibility and its support for national programs that contribute to disease prevention and enhancing quality of life, noting that the month of October is an important opportunity to renew awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer, which is one of the most common types of cancer among women around the world.
